Quran Ijazah with Connected Sanad

Quran Ijazah with Connected Sanad

An advanced one-to-one track towards an Ijazah with a connected chain of transmission — or a full khatma ending with a certificate of connected sanad.

This advanced track is for serious students pursuing a recognized license with a connected chain of transmission. It emphasizes precision in memorization, recitation quality, discipline, and close supervision under qualified scholars and licensed teachers. Students who want to complete the whole Quran under supervision without a teaching licence take the khatma route: all 30 parts recited to a licensed Sheikh, ending with a certificate of connected sanad to the Prophet ﷺ.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an Ijazah and a khatma with sanad?

Both mean reciting the whole Quran, all 30 parts, to a licensed teacher who holds a connected chain of transmission (sanad) and corrects every word. An Ijazah ends with written authorization to recite and teach in the named riwayah. A khatma with sanad ends with a certificate of connected sanad back to the Prophet ﷺ, without a licence to teach, and can be recited from the mushaf by any fluent reader. The free trial lesson tells you which route fits your level.

Who is the online Quran Ijazah program for?

It is an advanced track for students who have memorized the Quran, or are close to finishing, and want an Ijazah: authorization to recite and teach the Quran with a connected chain of transmission (sanad). It suits memorizers, future Quran teachers and imams who are ready for a demanding standard of precision and consistency. If your Tajweed or memorization still needs work, your teacher strengthens it first.

What level do I need before starting an Ijazah?

You need fluent, unhesitating reading of the mushaf and Tajweed you apply without stopping to think, with no clear errors (lahn jali) across a full page. For an Ijazah from memory, your Hifz must already be complete and on a steady revision cycle. The free trial lesson works as an assessment: it shows which route suits you, from memory or from the mushaf, and what needs correcting first.

How long does it take to get an Ijazah in Quran recitation?

There is no fixed timeline, because the teacher must hear you recite the entire Quran accurately and send you back over any weak passages. As a general guide, a student with solid Tajweed often needs 6 to 12 months reciting from the mushaf, and 1 to 2 years for an Ijazah from memory once the Hifz is complete; correction work beforehand adds time. Your pace also depends on how many sessions you take each week and how well you prepare.

What do I receive at the end of the Ijazah program?

A student who recites the whole Quran to the required standard is granted an Ijazah: written authorization to recite and teach in the named riwayah, with the full sanad linking their name, teacher by teacher, to the Prophet ﷺ. It certifies the accuracy of your recitation; it is not an academic degree.

How much does the Ijazah program cost?

The Ijazah and sanad program is a special one-to-one program, priced separately and not part of the standard lesson packages. Prices are given on request, so contact us on WhatsApp for details. You can still begin with a free trial lesson to have your recitation assessed.
